- Israeli Air Force Participates in Red Flag 23-2 After Long Hiatus
-
The Israeli Air Force (IAF) participated in Exercise Red Flag 23-2 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, utilizing its F-35I Adir aircraft for the large-scale exercise held March 13-24. Participants faced complex, multi-domain scenarios against Nellis AFB's professional aggressor force, replicating real-world threats.
IAF's participation in Red Flag 23-2 follows the success of Exercises Juniper Oak 23-2 and Juniper Falcon. The exercise enables the U.S. Air Force to improve interoperability with the IAF, bolster bilateral cooperation, and promote regional stability while reinforcing U.S. commitment to Israel's security.
First participating in Red Flag in 1978, the IAF's return to Nellis AFB after a seven-year hiatus highlights the significance of the U.S.-Israel relationship. Red Flag exercises aim to equip joint and allied partners with realistic training scenarios and readiness for potential real-world situations.
