- U.S., South Korea Hold Air Drills Over Yellow Sea
-
The Republic of Korea Air Force integrated with the United States for a bilateral mission over the Yellow Sea February 1, their first air drill of 2023.
The U.S. B-1s, F-35Bs, and F-22s joined South Korean F-35As for combined air drills to showcase the United States’ capability and commitment to security to South Korea and the Indo-Pacific region. The combined drills were conducted with the goal of improving combined operational capabilities and interoperability between the Air Forces of South Korea and the U.S.
Large-scale military exercises that had been suspended or downscaled were restarted by Washington and Seoul last year due in part to North Korea’s unprecedented provocations. Both countries will continue to strengthen joint drills – united by the F-35 fighter jet - to have strong response capabilities and readiness against North Korea's nuclear and missile threats.
