-
Availability and readiness are a priority to uphold national security. The Air National Guard has consistently met the challenges of unforeseen events over recent years. By operating the F-35, they will continue to maintain their effectiveness.
The last of the Wisconsin Air National Guard’s F-16 fighter jets departed Truax Field on Oct. 5 for the final time as the 115th Fighter Wing prepares for its next mission with the F-35 Lightning II. The F-16s commemorated 30 years of service at Truax Field. They arrived in 1992 to replace the A-10 Thunderbolt II.
Truax Field is undergoing construction and refining training at the base in anticipation of the arrival of the 115th Fighter Wing’s ninth primary airframe, the F-35.
