  • Vermont Air National Guard Deploys F-35s to Eastern Europe
  • The F-35 continues to support Enhanced Air Policing mission on NATO’s Eastern Flank during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. On May 2, eight F-35As from the 158th Fighter Wing in Burlington, Vermont, deployed to Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany to take over the mission from Hill Air Force Base’s 388th Fighter Wing. This is the first Vermont Air National Guard deployment in six years. 

    Fifth generation aircraft provide unprecedented communication capabilities, command and control, and lethality that is needed on the world stage to deter aggressors. Armed with the F-35's technological advances, the U.S. Air Force can attack anywhere, anytime, more quickly and with greater precision.
