- Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Exercise With F-35C
-
The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group conducted operations with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force in the Philippine Sea and East China Sea in April.
The Lincoln has aboard Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 314, the Marine Corps’ first F-35C squadron. One of the United States’ primary strategies for avoiding conflict is deterrence through military and economic policies and building relationships with “like-minded” countries. That exercise illustrates the strength of the U.S.-Japan alliance.
During bilateral exercises between the U.S. and Japan, the two navies strengthen all-domain awareness and maneuvers across a distributed maritime environment. Bilateral operations reassure our allies and partners of the U.S. commitment to maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
