Ready when called upon: F-35As from the 34th Fighter Squadron, 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, arrived at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, February 16. The 388th Fighter Wing is the first active-duty combat capable F-35A unit. According to Gen. Jeff Harrigian, Commander U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, the deployment of U.S. F-35As to Germany increases the defensive posture of the NATO Alliance, bolsters readiness, and further increases air integration capabilities with Allied and Partner nations.
