  • Exercise Noble Fusion Brings Together a Strong Navy-Marine Force
  • A cohesive Navy – Marine Corps team is a powerful tool. Exercise Noble Fusion took place during early February in the Philippine Sea with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy. For the first time since 2018, the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group operated alongside two Marine Expeditionary Units /Amphibious Ready Groups including the first Marine squadron to deploy the F-35C. The “Black Knights” of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314 provided air support of simulated long-range maritime strikes during amphibious exercises with F-35Bs from VMFA-121 “Green Knights” out of Kadena Air Base in Okinawa. Noble Fusion demonstrates the ability to respond quickly as a large force, as well as strengthens partnerships to maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific.
