  • Marine Corps F-35Bs Conduct Expeditionary Advanced Base Ops in North Carolina
  • Welcome F-35B to Marine Corps Auxiliary Landing Field Bogue, North Carolina! As the lethal stealth fighter demonstrates its capabilities to more and more service members around the country, the November 18 visit to North Carolina marks the first time the F-35B visited Bogue Field. The teams were able to gain much extra training value by conducting an air delivered ground refueling (ADGR) for the KC-130 crews as well as the F-35 ordnance Marines and pilots. Expeditionary advanced base operations, which include ADGR, is part of the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ force design 2030 concept to enable Marines to become even more mobile, lethal, and to make it harder for the enemy to detect them – the F-35 is key to this concept.
