- Joint U.S.-U.K. exercises integrate F-35B, F-35C

F-35 Unites! Four F-35Cs from Strike Fight Squadron (VFA) 147 participated in joint interoperability exercises on August 26 over the Philippine Sea with the HMS Queen Elizabeth Carrier Strike Group. The aircraft conducted missions to validate joint integration techniques, tactics, and procedures; including mid-air refueling.This is the first time that USS Carl Vinson and the U.K. Carrier Strike Group have operated together as well as the first training opportunity the U.K. had to engage with the F-35C. Integrating U.K. and U.S. Marine Corps F-35Bs into a flight with U.S. Navy F-35Cs continues to reinforce the tactical flexibility and interoperability of the F-35. (Read more...)
