Activities > Eglin
Air Force Base, Florida
Eglin AFB, FL serves as the air armament
weapons research and development center for the United States
Air Force. Toward that end, the JSF Eglin Site Operations
office was stood up in 2000 to perform the mission of providing
full spectrum weapons expertise to the JSF program to maximize
system performance and effectiveness. Primary JSF support
comes from the Air Armament Center (AAC), the Air Force Research
Laboratory Munitions Directorate (AFRL/MN), and the 46th Test
Wing. The JSF Eglin Site Operations, AAC/XRZ, currently operates
under the Capabilities Integration Directorate, AAC/XR.
Team members lead or serve on numerous JSF
IPTs, to include the Weapons IPT, the Modeling, Simulation
& Analysis IPT, and the Integrated Test Force. Primary
responsibilities of the Weapons IPT members include weapons
certification and integration, and gun system development,
integration and qualification. The Modeling, Simulation &
Analysis IPT member activities include weapons data base generation,
verification and validation of weapon models, and providing
support and analysis of JSF Use Case Verification. The Integrated
Test Force team members perform the test planning, execution
and analysis duties for weapons and gun system integration,
the Cooperative Avionics Test Bed (CATB) Program, and interoperability
and mission planning efforts.
