From 1996 through 2001, the Lockheed Martin JSF team participated
in the Concept Demonstration Phase of the JSF program. During
this phase the Lockheed Martin JSF team manufactured and flew
two experimental aircraft for the JSF program. Known as the
X-35A/B and the X-35C, the aircraft were a result of years
of work. Both X-35 aircraft successfully completed all of
their flight test requirements as set forth by the JSF Program
Office.
