Photos > Japan's F-35s

A Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) F-35A flies past Mt. Fuji on its way to Misawa Air Base on January 26. The aircraft, known as AX-6, was the second F-35A built in Japan at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) F-35 Final Assembly and Check Out (FACO) facility in Nagoya and is the first F-35 to land at Misawa Air Base. Japan is the forth international ally to operate F-35s outside the United States joining Italy, Israel, and Norway.
